Many people aspire to become an authoritarian leader at some point in their life, but there are often many reasons for staying away from such a role—authoritarianism being a risky way to be in charge. With that said, those who are attracted to the qualities of leadership will find themselves drawn towards authoritarian leaders. One reason for this is due to the ability of authoritarians to get their way because they are less concerned about what others think and won’t “bother with all that democracy bullshit.

The Autocratic leadership style is one in which the leader has ultimate control. Autocratic leaders decide without consulting with subordinates, and they expect their orders to be carried out without question.

This style of leadership is often associated with military organizations and other highly structured businesses where it often is the most efficient means of deciding and producing results. Autocratic leaders are direct, decisive, and confident with the ability to act with little input from others.

Autocratic leaders are also more likely to have a vision for how they want things done.

The Pros and Cons of Autocratic leadership

In the book The Art of War Sun Tzu, he advises to not harm and only necessary. Autocrats have an advantage. They are not bogged down by irrelevant concerns for their people’s well-being and welfare, so they can focus on achieving their goals with ruthless efficiency. Autocrats often win battles and wars because they do not allow themselves to be distracted or diverted from their goals.  Autocrats are less susceptible to the corrupting influences that often plague democracies.

Autocratic Methods of Leadership

Leaders should be Soldiers too. This means just as soldiers live and fight in the trenches, the leader must be prepared to serve his troops by making their experience both successful and pleasant. As with any soldier, those who serve under an autocratic leader are always subject to their orders, no matter how unreasonable they may seem.

Constant awareness of all that is happening in each of your territories is critical to lead effectively; knowing exactly what your people need can help you identify areas of both abundance and need.

 Autocratic Leadership has an impact

Leaders are always human and always make mistakes. Therefore, they must be intended by the people. The power of autocrats comes from the fact that they stay focused on their mission, which is to keep an army in line.

Autocratic leadership is proven to work

Not only do autocrats do the absolute best job of leading their countries, but they do it with a consistent and ruthless dedication that leaves no room for errors or flaws in any other place.

Autocratic leadership and the modern world

The crossroads of the world are not places where people go because of the exciting, inspiring, or just morally correct things that happen there; it is where people go to get rich.

The leader of a nation doesn’t need to rule the entire globe to be effective; his ability to protect and serve his country is all that really matters. For example, the leader of China can choose to take advantage of his country’s oil reserves while keeping his citizens free from starvation and disease.
